JWTs: What Rails Developers Need To Know

Thursday 17th September 6:30pm Online

What is a JSON Web Token (JWT) and why do you care? JWTs are a stateless, standardized way to represent user data. This talk will discuss why JWTs matter and the nuts and bolts of JWTs. We’ll also briefly discuss how you might use a JWT in your Rails application.

About the speaker

Dan Moore is a developer advocate for FusionAuth. He’s been using Ruby and Rails off and on since 2015. A former CTO, engineering manager and longtime developer, he's been writing software for (checks watch) over 20 years.

Register to attend

If you’d like to attend, you must register here before 5pm on the day of the event. We’ll send out the meeting details on the day via Meetup. Please check your spam folder as Meetup emails can often end up in there. In the meantime make sure you are set up and ready to go by downloading and installing the Zoom client. If you don’t want to install the Zoom client there is a web client but it’s not as fully featured and you’ll still need to sign in with a Zoom account to use it.

As with our in-person events, our code of conduct applies to all attendees so make sure you are familiar with it.
